OpenLoop Acquires Food-as-Medicine Startup Season Health as Telehealth Consolidation Accelerates

The undisclosed deal extends the telehealth infrastructure company into nutrition-based chronic care — one of 115 digital health acquisitions in a half-year defined by consolidation.

Telehealth infrastructure company OpenLoop Health has acquired Season Health, a food-as-medicine nutrition startup, in a deal first reported by Endpoints News. Terms were not disclosed.

OpenLoop provides white-label clinician networks, licensure coverage, and back-end operations for telehealth companies, employers, and pharma programs. Season Health brings clinical nutrition — registered dietitian care paired with food benefits — extending OpenLoop into nutrition-based chronic care just as GLP-1-adjacent demand lifts the entire category. (Nourish, a competitor in nutrition care, raised $100 million in the same period.)

The deal is one data point in a much larger trend: digital health recorded 115 acquisitions in H1 2026 per Rock Health, with Q2 the busiest M&A quarter since 2021. OpenLoop itself also acquired AI communications startup Hey Revia and launched its Launchpad rapid-deployment platform — a roll-up posture in plain view.

The strategic logic runs one direction: as standalone point solutions struggle to raise, infrastructure players with distribution are buying clinical capabilities at sensible prices and bundling them into platform offerings. Expect more of exactly this.
