Teladoc Launches 'Teladoc One,' Betting Its 100 Million Visits on Integrated, AI-Supported Care
The new virtual care practice model bundles chronic condition management, mental health, and primary care around a single member record — Teladoc's answer to the point-solution fatigue plaguing digital health.
Teladoc Health has launched "Teladoc One," an integrated, AI-supported virtual care practice model that bundles chronic condition management, mental health, and primary care around a single member record. Select client programs begin September 2026, with broad availability in January 2027.
The model is built on multidisciplinary care teams — clinicians, coaches, dietitians, and therapists — supported by human "care guides" and the company's Pulse intelligence engine, which combines clinical, claims, pharmacy, device, and medical-record data to steer care.
The bet behind the bundle
Teladoc One is a direct answer to the sharpest criticism of the virtual care industry: that it became a pile of disconnected point solutions employers are tired of stitching together. The company cites internal research on more than 29,000 members showing that combining chronic-care and mental health programs produced significantly greater blood-sugar reduction and weight loss than either alone.
The macro logic is hard to argue with — Teladoc cites roughly three in four Americans managing at least one chronic disease, driving $4.7 trillion in annual costs. The open question is execution: longitudinal, AI-augmented care management is a far harder business than transactional urgent-care telehealth, and the timing squarely targets 2027 employer and health-plan benefit cycles.
For the industry, the launch confirms a shift already visible in utilization data: virtual care's future is continuous management of chronic and behavioral conditions, not video urgent care.
