Talkiatry's $210M Series D Crowns Mental Health as Digital Health's Top Category — Again
With 800+ employed psychiatrists, 3 million visits delivered, and in-network status covering 170 million lives, the telepsychiatry company's oversubscribed round anchors mental health's seventh straight year atop the funding charts.
Talkiatry, a national telepsychiatry provider built on a full-stack employed-psychiatrist model, closed an oversubscribed $210 million Series D led by Perceptive Advisors with Brussels-based Sofina — the largest mental health raise in a half-year that saw the category top digital health funding for the seventh consecutive year.
The company reports 1,745% revenue growth from 2021 to 2024, and cites clinical outcomes of 87% of anxiety patients and 86% of depression patients improving within two visits. Prior backers include Andreessen Horowitz, blisce/, and Left Lane Capital, with a debt facility from Banc of California. Total funding now exceeds $400 million.
The employed model wins the round
Talkiatry's structural bet — employing psychiatrists rather than running a marketplace — was long the expensive path. It now looks like the defensible one: payers want accountable quality, and an employed medical group can standardize care in ways a gig marketplace cannot. The company plans to move up the acuity spectrum, including intensive outpatient programs, while investing in AI for patient engagement.
The round landed alongside Grow Therapy's $150 million Series D (TCV and Goldman Sachs Alternatives-led, at a reported $3 billion valuation) — together confirming that in behavioral health, capital is now flowing to scaled, in-network, outcomes-reporting providers rather than access-only apps.
